Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is one of the most important pilgrims for Hindu devotees, the Yatra consists of four main pilgrimage sites namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath & Badrinath. Traditionally in northern India the yatra commences from the west and ends in the east, thus the char Dham yatra begins from Yamunotri, then Gangotri then proceeds to Kedarnath, and finally concludes at Badrinath.

Yamunotri is dedicated to goddess Yamuna, it is believed that a bath in the waters of Yamuna protects the devotee from untimely death.

Gangotri is Dedicated to the goddess Gangotri, this beautiful pilgrimage overlooking river Bhagirathi another name of river Ganga, derived from the name of an ancient king Bhagirath who did penance that succeeded in bringing Ganga from the heavens on earth for the salvation of his ancestors.

Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of lord Shiva & part of the Panch Kedar, the holy river Mandakini originates from a lake near Kedarnath temple.

Badrinath is situated on the banks of river Alaknanda & dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to legend, Lord Vishnu meditated here while his consort Lakshmi took the form of a berry (Badri) tree to offer him shade.
