Overview

This 9 nights, 10 days High Altitude Yoga & Wellness Retreat in Spiti Valley is designed as a complete circular Himalayan journey, where the road never repeats itself and each day opens a new landscape. Beginning from Chandigarh, the journey moves gradually through Shimla and the serene Kinnaur Valley, entering the stark and powerful terrain of Spiti Valley. Along the way, we explore ancient spaces like Nako and Tabo, visit some of the highest inhabited villages in the world including Kibber, and witness the raw beauty of high-altitude Himalayan life.

Daily yoga, breathwork, meditation, and sound practices are gently adapted for altitude, supporting the body and nervous system as the journey unfolds through Losar and the pristine waters of Chandratal, before descending via Manali to complete the circle. Curated as wellness during travel, this retreat blends conscious movement, sacred landscapes, and inner inquiry, held spiritually by Anandmaya Rishikesh and seamlessly managed by Incredible Outdoors - a journey that moves outward through the Himalayas and inward toward clarity and stillness.

Ancient Wisdom, Modern Healing

I lost my job three months ago and needed perspective. This retreat gave me exactly that. Tabo Monastery being called Ajanta of the Himalayas isn't an exaggeration - those murals and the energy there during guided contemplation was profound. The focus on ""inner discipline & stillness"" each day really helped me process what's next for me. Pranayama sessions specifically designed for the nervous system were therapeutic. Kaza was my favorite base - exploring Langza, Hikkim and Komic from there, each village teaching something different. The closing circle at Manali made me cry happy tears. Left with clarity I didn't have before. Thank you Incredible Outdoors team.

Stillness at 4,500 Meters

I do yoga regularly in Mumbai but practicing at this altitude is a whole different experience. The instructors from Anandmaya Rishikesh knew exactly how to adapt poses. Dhankar Monastery perched on those cliffs was breathtaking - the walk to Dhankar Lake tested me but the view was worth it. The astrology talks about elements and altitude actually made scientific sense. I loved the focus on breathwork for oxygen efficiency. Kunzum Pass crossing felt like a spiritual gateway. Chandrataal deserves more time honestly, we only got sunset and morning there. The descent to Manali was beautiful, those green landscapes after days of cold desert felt emotional. Incredible Outdoors planned this perfectly, Also thanks to Ashish.

Fossils, Post Offices and Inner Work

Who knew the world's highest post office would make me cry? But standing at Hikkim after days of yoga and breathwork, sending a postcard to myself felt so symbolic. Langza with the giant Buddha and ancient fossils made me think about time differently. The breathwork sessions really helped with altitude - barely had any issues after Nako. Morning yoga overlooking Spiti River at Key Monastery was magical. Chandrataal under stars with the group doing silent meditation... that hit deep. Food was simple but good, rooms were basic but clean. The circular route means you're always seeing something new. Well worth the investment.

The Circle That Never Repeats

This retreat concept is brilliant - the road literally never goes back the same way. I started in Dallas and by the time we reached Chandrataal I felt like a completely different person. The yoga sessions were adapted perfectly for altitude, never felt pressured to push beyond what my body could handle. Tabo Monastery was ancient and powerful, sitting in those 996 AD walls during meditation was surreal. Nako Lake meditation at sunset is something I'll never forget. The astrology sessions connected so well with the landscapes we were moving through. The team was professional and caring throughout. Only 10 days but felt like a lifetime of experiences packed in.
