DAY 1 – HARIDWAR/RISHIKESH TO GANGOTRI
  • Distance 291 km, Drive by comfortable Suv/Tempo Traveller.
  • Pick up from Haridwar railway station at 6 am.
  • Travel time will be 10 to 11 hours.
  • Last  Mobile networks will be available up to Gangotri.
  • The last ATM & Market for buying any essentials will be Uttarkashi.
  • Stay at Hotel on a shared basis.
DAY 2 – ACCLIMATIZATION DAY AT GANGOTRI
  • Visit the holy shrine Gangotri temple.
  • Discover Suryakund at Gangotri.
  • Explore the Ashrams and Sadhus caves around Gangotri.
DAY 3: GANGOTRI – BHOJ KHARAK CAMP
  • Trek start after an early breakfast at 8:00 am.
  • 9 km trek to our camp 1 Bhoj Kharak.
  • Start 9 km ( 5 to 6 hours, Steep Ascent) trek to Bhoj Kharak.
  • Fresh drinking water is available along the route.
  • Packed Lunch will be provided.
  • Stay at Bhoj Karak campsite (Shared Accommodation).
DAY 4:BHOJ KHARAK TO KEDAR KHARAK CAMP
  • 4.5 km trek to our camp 2, total trek time 3-4 hours.
  • The entire trek is a Steep ascent.
  • Spend a couple of hours exploring the Campsite, & peaks,
  • later return to base at Campsite at Kedar Kharak.
  • Night stay at Camps (Shared Accommodation)
DAY 5: KEDAR KHARAK TO KEDARTAL & BACK TO KEDAR KHARAK
  • Distance to Kedartal 4.5 km, Time 4 to 5 hours.
  • Packed lunch will be provided for the trek.
DAY 6: KEDAR KHARAK TO GANGOTRI-HARSHIL
  • After breakfast, we will start trekking back to Gangotri.
  • After reaching Gangotri we will depart to Harshil for a night halt.
DAY 7: HARSHIL TO RISHIKESH/HARIDWAR
  • After morning tea, start to drive back home.
  • Will reach Haridwar / Rishikesh by 6 or 7 pm, you can plan your further travel anytime after 8 pm.

 

 

Kedartal Trek Uttarakhand – A Detailed Itinerary for a Memorable Adventure

Day 1: Haridwar/Rishikesh to Gangotri

Embark on your Kedartal Trek Uttarakhand adventure with a pickup from Haridwar railway station at 6am. The 10-11 hour journey to Gangotri will be comfortable, as you’ll be traveling by SUV or Tempo Traveller. Note that the last available mobile network will be at Gangotri and the last chance to stock up on essentials will be in Uttarkashi. Once you arrive in Gangotri, you’ll spend the night in a hotel on a shared basis.

Day 2: Acclimatization Day at Gangotri

Take a break and acclimate to the surroundings on the second day of your Kedartal Trek Uttarakhand adventure. Visit the sacred Gangotri Temple and explore Suryakund in Gangotri. Don’t miss the chance to visit the ashrams and Sadhus caves in the area.

Day 3: Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak Camp

Start your Kedartal Trek Uttarakhand journey in earnest with a 9 km trek to Bhoj Kharak after breakfast at 8am. The trek has a steep ascent and will take approximately 5-6 hours, but you’ll have access to fresh drinking water along the way. A packed lunch will also be provided. After a long day, spend the night at the Bhoj Kharak campsite on a shared basis.

Day 4: BHOJ KHARAK TO KEDAR KHARAK CAMP

Trekkers will begin their journey from Bhoj Kharak, heading towards Kedar Kharak Camp. The trek is 4.5 km and is a challenging steep ascent, but the journey is worth it for the stunning views of the Himalayas that await. With a total trek time of around 3 to 4 hours, trekkers will have the opportunity to take in the stunning scenery, with fresh mountain air and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Once at the campsite, trekkers will have a few hours to explore and take in the surroundings, with an overnight stay at the shared campsite in Kedar Kharak.

Day 5: KEDAR KHARAK TO KEDARTAL & BACK TO KEDAR KHARAK

This day is dedicated to exploring the stunning Kedartal, with a journey of 4.5 km that will take around 4 to 5 hours. With a packed lunch provided, trekkers will be able to fully immerse themselves in the trek and the stunning surroundings, taking in the breathtaking mountain views and experiencing the unique natural beauty of the region.

Day 6: KEDAR KHARAK TO GANGOTRI-HARSHIL

After a hearty breakfast, trekkers will begin their journey back to Gangotri, before departing to Harshil for a night halt. This day provides the opportunity to reflect on the incredible journey so far, and to take in the stunning views of the Himalayas once again.

Day 7: HARSHIL TO RISHIKESH/HARIDWAR

The final day of the trek begins with a relaxing morning tea, before embarking on the journey back to Rishikesh or Haridwar. This day is an opportunity to take in the memories and experiences of the trek, and to look back on the incredible journey through the heart of the Himalayas. With an estimated arrival time of between 6 to 7 pm, trekkers will have the flexibility to plan their further travels and to continue exploring this beautiful part of the world.

Gangotri is the last road head and also the starting point of the trek.

BY TRAIN:

Haridwar junction is the closest railway station, at a Road distance of 292 kms from Gangotri, Starting point of the Kedartal trek.

BY AIR:

The closest airport near Kedartal is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun.
